What is Memorialization?

When we mention memorialization, think about the following:

When you were a child or even as an adult, did you ever leave your mark on a tree through carvings or a design in concrete? Think about why you would have done this. Could it be that you wanted to leave something about yourself as a mark or to allow generations to come to know something about you? Memorialization is similar.

Memorialization can be an important step in the bereavement process. It allows family members to showcase the life of someone for whom they cared or it allows someone to display their achievements. It tells the legend of a person outside of the stories that pass from generation to generation.

Let Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery help design your memorial or one for your loved one. We will strive to bring you the pleasure and excellence you deserve.

Military service

If your loved one was in the military, you may use that as a springboard to creating a memorialization concept. We can assist with the ordering of a memorial through the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Steps to memorializing

When beginning the steps of memorializing a loved one, think of all the delightful experiences that you had with the person.

Think about their hobbies, military service, interests, where they worked, anything that will help create a lasting memento that will be displayed over time. After all, names with dates do not allow for much information.

Sales and Legal

Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery uses Argent Trust Financial Group of Ruston, LA to entrust our pre-need sales and they handle our perpetual care accounts. Argent Trust Financial Group is an approved company by the MS Secretary of State's office.

Hobbies and interests

Think about your loved one's hobbies, interests, where they worked; anything that will help create a lasting memento that will be displayed over time.

Hobbies and interests can be the foundation of your memorialization concept to help preserve the embodiment of your loved one with honor, dignity and personality.
